Benefits for members

PI members receive Paper and Timber journal, Finland’s only professional pulp and paper industry journal, eight times a year. PI’s Yearbook, a valuable source of information about the people involved in the forest and related industries, is also free to members. Members also receive discounts on the 6-language Paper and Board Dictionary and on the Papermaking Science and Technology textbook series.

In addition to these direct benefits, PI offers its members a large number of contacts and the opportunity to network with others in the same industry. PI’s Autumn Meeting and Annual General Meeting and the in-service training sessions and seminars arranged in conjunction with AEL/METSKO give members an opportunity to meet not just each other but also experts and other influential figures and to gather the latest information on advances and other issues connected with the industry. The Johan Gullichsen Colloquium, which is held every two years, is aimed specifically at young engineers and scientists. Local activities started few years ago at forest industry locations to promote more informal contacts between members in different areas.
