§ 1
The Plaquette of Merit award was established in 1978. It is awarded by Paper Engineers’ Association in recognition of outstanding work done in the Association’s field.

§ 2
On the front of the plaquette is the symbol of Paper Engineers’ Association and the words “Pro bono labore”, below which shall be engraved the recipient’s name. On the reverse shall be engraved the reason for the award and the date on which it was made. The number of the plaquette shall be engraved on the upper edge.

§ 3
The plaquette shall be awarded by decision of PI, which shall keep a record of recipients.
