What is UPM Bioforce trainee program?
Program is targeted for advanced students in a university or a university of applied sciences. There are ten open traineeships at UPM's locations in Austria, China, France, Germany, UK, Uruguay and Finland.
UPM Bioforce trainee program was initiated in 2011 when UPM’s President and CEO Jussi Pesonen established a fund on his 50th anniversary to support international exchange of the Paper Engineers’ Association’s student members.
What UPM offers?
As a UPM trainee you'll have a great opportunity to work in an international company, as part of a local team. Traineeship is an excellent way to learn to know UPM and a stepping-stone for a potential career with UPM. Last year most of the trainees had an own project work/study related to the operations in the site.
Feedback from some of the students from last summer:
“I’m very satisfied with the traineeship. It was a good experience and I was able to improve my German language skills and get to know how people work in Germany”. A student in UPM Germany
“The experience was very valuable, e.g. I learned technology in a practical way. Working in an international work environment helped to widen my perspective.” A student working in UPM France
The traineeships begin in May/ June and duration is 2 - 3 months.
Positions for Finnish students are available in the following locations:
Paper mill Steyrermuhl, Austria
Paper mill Augsburg/Plattling, Germany

What is covered by the trainee program?
In addition to trainee salary, your round-trip travel costs to place of traineeship will be covered. The receiving UPM mill will help in finding accommodation for the trainee. However, the cost of the accommodation will be trainees own responsibility. The practical details will be discussed after selection and in interviews.
